Join us for Print Day in May, a global celebration of printmaking on the first Saturday in May each year. People around the world make prints & share them, celebrating the human creative spirit & forging connections amongst the global printmaking community.
ANYONE can participate! A print can be ambitious - a mokuhanga woodcut like Hokusai, an engraving like Dürher, an etching like Rembrandt - or as simple as: A home fry dipped in ketchup and pressed onto your plate; blotting your lipstick on a napkin; capturing a ring of wet coffee from the bottom of your mug onto a piece of paper.
There are TWO ways you can participate in PDiM with us:
1. Come to our Printmaking Open House, May 4th, 12 - 5, for FREE Printmaking! Stop by and make a print that you can take home with you – please register first by visiting our Contact Page and telling us in our comments box what time you plan to come by. You can use your print to enter our PDiM Contest!
2. Enter Our Print Day in May Contest:
We are sponsoring PDiM by awarding a 90-minute session of individual printmaking instruction in our Essex, CT Studio, to take place in 2024. Kids and adults welcome to enter! To enter:
(1) Make a print on May 4th (you can do this at home);
(2) Post it on Instagram or Facebook;
(3) Put the hashtag #printdayinmay2024 in the caption;
(4) Tag and follow @verdigrisgallery and @printdayinmay
We will select one entry as our prize-winner. Criteria: the print looks like you had fun making it!
